Floorball

The floorball tournament at EuroGames Vienna 2024 is organised in cooperation with the LGBTIQ+ sports club Lotosové kvety from Bratislava. Our floorball organising team already has a lot of experience and passion, thanks to many years of running international tournaments at home. We play sports with PRIDE and LOVE!
The tournament will be held as an all-gender event, welcoming female* identified, male* identified and non-binary participants in the same category. Gender-mixed teams are very encouraged.
The game will be played on a field of size 24 m x 14 m with 3 field players and a goalie in a standard-sized goal (160 cm x 115 cm). Each team consists of at least 4 participants, but the recommended team size is 7 players including the goalie.
Note: We are aware that goalies were not always part of every LGBTIQ+ tournament, and we understand the challenge that not every LGBTIQ+ floorball team regularly practices with a goalie. However, we believe that having a goalie enhances the overall quality of the game, making it more strategic, balanced, and exciting, as scoring goals becomes more challenging. Having a fully equipped goalie instead of a player defending a goal can also help prevent injuries.

Registration
You can register for the Eurogames Vienna 2024 floorball tournament as part of a team or individually. If you don’t have a complete team, feel free to register on your own. Individually registered players will be assigned to other teams after mutual agreement.
We recommend that the team captains register first and create the team name. Then the team members can be invited to the team.
If you are a team captain and an athlete too you do not have to register as an athlete for the team competition cause you can do that already as team captain.
